Party: SUP Club – Roadrunners!

It's an easy call for SUP Club tonight: the tides just aren't workable at the coast, so we're back to the river. The weather is set to reboot after last night's rain, with the sun due back this afternoon and an ever-decreasing northerly wind. And we're happy to say that conditions are pretty good up there again now since the blanket weed has subsided. We are expecting that rainfall to produce some stream though, so we're going to head into it from Mill House and count on a conveyor-belt ride back into whatever breeze is left over! So we're meeting at 6.40pm (please don't be late – in fact, be earlier if you need to pump a board up!) for a 6.55pm launch at Mill House (by the Church Road bridge, just beyond CM3 4BG – http://www.supsect.com/mill-house-river-chelmer/). Again, we're going to get the shortest boards / slowest / newest paddlers off first, then all comers around 7pm and finally raceboarders for 7.05pm. We're looking to make it three locks west towards the A12 to turn at Cuton Lock, c.7km, possibly beyond to the footbridge or even roadbridge for some – everyone turning for home at 7.50pm sharp, wherever they make it to! And we're aiming to be all packed up and heading to the Six Bells by 9pm for drinks and hopefully in time for food afterwards...
