Party: SUP Club – Old Faithful

It might not be perfect, but the weather's certainly better tonight than we've had on a Wednesday for a while! And it's another simple call for SUP Club: the tides are totally wrong, so in a moderate westerly breeze we're back to this season's old faithful up at the river. The nights are already drawing in too, so we'll have to go a little earlier. Meeting by 6.20pm (please don't be late – and be early if you need to pump a board up!) we're aiming for a 6.30pm launch at Mill House (by the Church Road bridge, just beyond CM3 4BG – http://www.supsect.com/mill-house-river-chelmer/). As ever we'll be getting the shortest boards / slowest / newest paddlers off first, graduating to cruisers five minutes later and finally full-on raceboarders at 6.40pm. We're looking to make at least three locks west (into the wind and flow) towards the A12 to turn at Cuton Lock, c.7km, probably beyond to the footbridge or even roadbridge (8km+) for many – everyone turning for home at 7.30pm. Then we should be comfortably packed up and heading to the Six Bells for drinks and food by the time it's dark at 8.30pm...
