So yet again, we're not quite getting the Wednesday weather we'd have hoped for! With a 7.05pm high tide the coast is on, although a potentially moderate north-easterly wind means (a bit like last week) tonight's definitely not ideal for everyone... (Again no hire kit, and if you're not yet completely confident paddling strong into a solid headwind please give this one a miss.) That said, we're going to hit Chalkwell again as odds are it should be sufficiently tucked out of the wind to stay good and flat. And all being well (ie; light enough offshore winds and therefore flat enough, otherwise we'll stay put) this week we're hoping to try a little run into Old Leigh and back (pack those waterproof fivers, as we might even manage a cheeky beer midway!) Returning with the ebb tide, but worst-case scenario possibly into a gusty cross-headwind, which is why we need to be completely sure everyone can paddle themselves out of trouble if needs be. Meeting by 6.30pm at Chalkwell rigging green (www.wetndrysup.com/sup-locations/chalkwell-beach/ – nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ) for a 6.45pm launch. Should be back soon after 8pm ready to hit the pub for dinner and drinks!
