Dr. Osuch has been a passionate visionary in patient care, education and research and brings innovative and patient-oriented perspectives to these areas. As the Rea Chair of Affective and Anxiety Disorders, she developed the First Episode Mood and Anxiety Program (FEMAP), which is a clinical research and treatment program emphasizing early identification and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in an outpatient and youth-friendly setting.
Dr. Elizabeth Osuch went to medical school at Michigan State University’s School of Human Medicine, completed her psychiatry residency training at the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Health System in Baltimore, Maryland, and then finished a clinical research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland in the Biological Psychiatry Branch under the supervision of Robert Post. She was on the research faculty of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland before coming to London Health Sciences Centre in late 2005.

Dr. Karima Velji, Ph.D., RN has been the President of Canadian Nurses Association since June 2014. Dr. Velji has been a Director of Heart and Stroke Foundation Ontario since February 2013. Dr. Velji served as the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Professional Practice at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. She is a healthcare executive with over 25 years of progressive leadership experience spanning the full continuum of careUniversity of Toronto (Mississauga Campus), Canadian Nurses Foundation and Assessment Strategies Inc. Dr. Velji was recently appointed as an external reviewer for the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care/Sunnybrook Hospital. Dr. Velji has cross appointments to the University of Toronto and McMaster University. She has won several outstanding achievement awards including the Sigma Theta Tau Excellence in Administration award, University of Toronto Distinguished Alumni award, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) Margaret Comack Award of Excellence in Nursing Leadership, and the Award of Excellence in Teaching (student nominated) from the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at University of Toronto. She is profiled in the “Boundless” banner campaign as an outstanding alumna of University of Toronto. Dr. Velji is a consultant to global sites, including East Africa, the Middle East and Asia, for development of nurse credentialing/education programs and quality improvement methodologies.
