The Central Florida Community Arts Big Band will be performing at the Creative City Project on Saturday, October 15, and they have invited us to dance with them as they perform!
The CFCArts Big Band will be performing a 20 minute big band jazz set at 8:30pm, at the 55 West Plaza in Church Street District, outside of 55 West Apartments. A map will be posted of where the performance is taking place as the event approaches. The director is trying to secure an area for dancers, and we'll update everyone as necessary. Come swing dance with us!
CFCArts Big Band Director Josh Wilson has also invited us to the CFCArts Big Band's rehearsal of their jazz set on October 9, 5pm-6:45pm at Calvary Orlando, 1199 Clay St, Winter Park, FL 32789. Feel free to attend if you're interested and available!
The Creative City Project is a free annual collaborative art and performance event in Downtown Orlando, along Orange Ave and on Pine St and Church St. Over 1,000 artists and performers will be at the event, bringing the city to life! The Creative City Project is 5-11pm, so feel free to explore before and after the CFC Big Band's performance. There are an abundance of performances, immersive experiences, and interactive activities. You don't have to spend the entire night with Swing Knights, but we do hope that you'll join us for dancing!
There is parking available around Downtown Orlando for around $10 - so try and carpool, if you can! You can find the garages at http://www.cityoforlando.net/parking/downtown-parking-locations/. According to the Creative City Project, "the closest garages to the Creative City Project are the Library Garage on Central and the 55W garage on Pine St. But, if you can walk a little bit, you'll encounter less traffic by parking at the City Commons Garage on Boone Ave or the Jefferson St Garage on Jefferson."
