The Martinez Brothers will be in Glasgow this Hogmanay, delivering an extended four hour set at the O2 ABC on New Year’s Eve.

Bronx natives Chris & Steve Martinez have had a whirlwind of a decade. Building on their jazz, disco & house influences, they emerged from the New York house scene in the mid-00s, working the NY scene before spreading their sound across the United States and beyond, touring across Europe and Asia, becoming regular headline fixtures in Ibiza in the process.

Initially working as producers under the guidance of Dennis Ferrer and releasing their first single when Chris was just 15 and Steve 18, the Brothers have since gone on to work with the likes of Green Velvet (on their ubiquitous ‘Bigger Than Prince’ remix), DJ Sneak and Nile Rodgers, and also founded their own label ‘Cuttin’ Headz’.

The Martinez Brothers’ layered, energetic DJ sets have propelled them from the clubs of New York to the stages of worldwide festivals such as Sónar and earned them a prestigious residency at Circoloco. Catch them this NYE at the O2 ABC for a night to remember.

The Martinez Brothers will be joined on the night by fellow New Yorker Filsonik. From the Lower East Side rather than the Bronx, FIlsonik nonetheless shares the same background in hip hop, latin & disco sounds as The Martinez Bros, mixing these sounds with his training as a classical pianist to produce a very New York style of melodic house.

Holding the fort for Glasgow will be The Shimmy’s Vilmos. As one of Glasgow’s most respected DJs, William Auld has played alongside the very best in the business and will be continuing that tradition in fine style this New Year’s Eve.
