Skata Tones

Word is getting around that the In Town Pop Sound is exploding in North Devon. Six troubadours of ska, reggae, rock and good times have been lighting up the stage wherever they perform.

Ska, Reggae and Dub-infused covers and originals.

Once upon a time a simple college project, this band has blown the roof off sky-high expectations, triumphing to the final 3 of 600 bands in The Covent's music competition. They’ve played half a dozen festivals in 2014, some favourites being The Sunwest and BAAM Festival. In addition, they’ve supported The Wurzels, BackBeat Soundsystem, Dub Pistols and The Skints – a bit of a highlight, considering how huge an influence the latter has been to the band.

Pareidolia

In brief we are a modern fusion outfit formed and based in Manchester. Think rhythmic soul, bass influenced electronica and break-beat. We write collaboratively, with no genre boundaries. Our live sets encompass jazz, blues, reggae, d'n'b, garage and afro-beats. After supporting sub motion orchestra and Riot Jazz we're more than ready to show our music to more audiences, across more genres.
Our aim as musicians and performers is to make the audience engage with our sound, we spend a lot of time trying to do beats, structures and compositions that may be beyond our current skill set, but by aiming for the most eclectic of sounds, we will try hard as hell to make a jazz swing breakdown mix well into our tune…if it’s the last thing we do! We think of what we want to hear and we try our best to pursue it. Inspired by a countless breadth of musicians and DJ’s from Hidden orchestra to Aphex Twin to Erykah Badu, Pareidolia want as many people as possible to see and hear the potentials of fusing your favourite sounds.
