Burned-out torch songs and manic babelogues — The Cardboard City mixes it all up, tugging you down a hole and yanking your chain, seducing you and deceiving you, back and forth up and down the railroad track all the way through the fence and over the cliff into the arms of Baby Jesus and His Biker Gang of Nasty Bankers.

These are songs, with a lot of words, and more words, whispered and shouted lovingly into your ear by lead singer and keyboardist Noel Bush, swathed in wry & insidious bass lines by the shape-shifting Micha Bürgle, scaffolded and deconstructed and stacked up in rock and roll mountains by drummer Henrik Lafrenz.

DJ duo Richter-Robertson bookends the band’s performance with their unique brand of Ctrl-Alt-Pop.
