Party: Ronimisministeerium does El Chorro, Spain
Main page > Ronimisministeerium > Ronimisministeerium does El Chorro, Spain
El Chorro, a legendary climbing destination 1 hour drive from Malaga, is where Ronimisministeerium climbers will this year get an early start to outdoor climbing season (http://www.climb-europe.com/RockClimbingSpain/El-Chorro-Logistics.html).
El Chorro has something for every climber regardless of style or level: top roping, sport climbing, trad and multipitch. There is also some deep water soloing and bouldering but compared to the 2000 rock climbing routes these are but a small footnote (http://www.climb-europe.com/RockClimbingSpain/RockClimbingElChorro.html).
The most famous routes are located in a deep, narrow gorge which is also the home for Caminito del Rey, a walk way suspended 100 m from the bottom of the gorge. Just write "El Chorro climbing" into Google or Youtube to see more!
Getting to El Chorro is easy with a train or a car and accommodation at Olive Branch costs from 9 €/night/person for a tent to 17,5 €/night/person in an en suite room for two (http://www.olivebranchelchorro.co.uk/en/). There should be tons of cheap airlines flying to Malaga from bigger European, should you find a good connection please share it in the event discussion.
The fine print at the bottom:
- Consider this event invitation as a possibility to climb in a friendly company - nothing more, nothing less. Ronimisministeerium does not charge a single euro cent from you regardless of whether you participated or not... But we will also not arrange your travel, insurances, make sure you have the necessary climbing gear, tuck you in at night or make sure your pillow is fluffy.
- If you consider joining, please discuss with others what type of climbing they are planning to do & with whom, agree on who bring the ropes and metal, how to move around and accommodate etc.
- You are ultimately responsible of your own happiness, which is a scary prospect, but based on earlier similar trips we are happy to say that the probability of you being happy is still high :)
