King Solomon

The music began as a song-writing hobby for an inspired Kingsley Salmon, son of a Dub-Reggae
producer. Scribbles in his bedroom led to having informal jams with newbie bassist brother, Jon, and a few home-made reggae influenced demos on Logic 9, which were then discovered by college friend Sam. In 2012, Kingsley, who was known as a Blues guitarist, and Sam, a rebellious funk drummer, were already performing in bands that dabbled in the underrated Gloucestershire music scene. Tired of the pace of things, the three took on the challenge of turning the demos into a real band.
Solidarity came in 2013 after attracting talented musicians from across south-West England. The trio became a 10-piece reggae powerhouse that practiced religiously. The collective were without a name until the 'Salmon' brothers were mistakenly referred to as 'Solomon'. This sat well with Kingsley, who is fascinated by history, so they became King Solomon. As with all bands, cabinet shuffles occur. Though the line-up has changed, the group have formed into a tight platoon of musicians.
Word-of-Mouth rumours of a heavyweight new sound quickly drew King Solomon onto the stage.
The band have gained momentum across the UK with an ever-growing fan-base who are intrigued by the diverse mix of Blues, Funk and World music sitting on top of Roots-Reggae bass-lines. The raw striking hooks resonate with audiences who have become disheartened with the cultural conveyor belt of the mainstream media. King Solomon is current, with deep roots.
After a year of constant performances and intense preparation for recording, King Solomon was dubbed 'Band Of the Year by voters in a 'Behind-The-Scene Gloucestershire' magazine poll. The accolade spurred them on to record an album and an EP in January and February 2015.
The 'In The Dragon's Den' EP was released in May '15 containing 'Solid Foundation' and 'Yes
Means Yes (No Means No)', inspired by an empowering anthem in the political world that was later remixed by Benelux star, Pascion. The EP also gave us a hint of old-school Dub-Reggae with 'Dub Means Dub' and an acoustic version of 'Poor Man', described by Pauline Black (The Selector) as 'A lovely song and lovely voice', reminding her of 'an early Finlay Quaye'.
Kingsley has led the production of the upcoming album, ‘Ceasefire’. Recording began in January '15. Meticulous attention to detail and perfectionism has prolonged the unveiling, but the10 track masterpiece is ready and scheduled for release in Spring 2016 with Barleyfield Records.
After the band's winter break, gigging resumes in February '16 with shows supporting top-ranking acts such as The Beat, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, The Aggrolites, Earl 16, and Subgiant. They have also landed slots at premiere music events like Boomtown Fair & One Love Festival.
Join the movement and check out King Solomon for an original style of Reggae inspired by the
roots of contemporary music.

HENGE

The year is minus 8008 (as in -BOOB on a calculator). A small group of Mutagions have evacuated Xylanthia due to the conflict between the state of Mutagia and the Cuboid Sap Lords. For some years now the Mutagions have been protesting, attempting to radicalise common thought among the misguided people, using the obscure art form of Cosmic Dross as their vehicle for change.

Unfortunately the protests failed. Any Mutagion caught listening to Cosmic Dross was immediately subjected to physical violence or imprisonment on the grounds of insanity and attempting to pervert the court of Bore. Mutagions began to turn on one another, families were separated, districts became ruins and the only way of surviving was to conform. The Cuboid Sap Lords, along with their army of Negamorphs, once again regained full control of the state.

The whereabouts of the four remaining Mutagions is unknown. The Lords claim that they were exterminated in the midst of the rioting and protesting. However, the fate of the evacuees is discussed at great lengths by prisoners, especially when locked away in Sap cells for long periods. It has become Mutagion folk lore that they did indeed escape. Some say a glow hole sucked them in to a different realm and they are lost in time, floating matter with no purpose. Others believe they were spack-zapped by the Lords and turned in to the 4 pillars that surround the Cuboid dungeon. The fact is, they have never been seen in Mutagia,( or on Xylanthia for that matter) since the last day of protest.....
