Athabasca Barnburner Album Release Party with guest Gui Benoit
After capturing the true spirit of days gone by, in a mason jar. This 3 piece string-band is delivering its own brand of folk music down from the mountain (Canada). Inspiring music lovers of all ages to get up and dance. Breaking the molds of tradition. Blending old-time clawhammer banjo, fine whiskey vocal harmonies, enkindling melodies, and tireless rhythm. Singing songs of the bible, the bottle, and everything in between.
Tis morning, somewhere in the western rockies of Alberta. It's A Beautiful bluebird day, barn swallows darting through the air, dirt squirrels whistling a sweet tune. The murmur of a lonesome train in the distance. As this object fast approaches you’re soon to realize.. this is no train.. Thats a beat down black camper van.. and its headed your way! You turn to run, but slip on elk shit, just as the driver of this badass rig locks up the brakes, pulling a wicked, right sideways skid, stopping 2 ft in front of you. The door slides open, “GET IN THE VAN” someone yells, “where are we going?” You reply, “In the back..” You immediately think to yourself there’s no way in hell I’m getting in that thing. Until you notice a sound.. a banjo, an old guitar, voices in harmony, all of a sudden your world makes sense. You get in the van..
