Party: Real Ponchos, Just A Season and Leathan Milne

Join us for a mesmerizing night of live music with some of Vancouver's most exciting Alt-Country acts.

REAL PONCHOS
http://www.realponchos.com/

"There are alt-country bands, and there are renegades like the Meat Puppets, Sadies, and Gun Club that twist traditional music into something exciting and wildly new. File Real Ponchos—fronted by singer-guitarists Emile Scott and Ben Arsenault—in the groundbreaking category. The band, which is rounded out by bassist Michael Wagler and drummer Emlyn Scherk, takes country and messes it up in the most glorious of ways on its first full-length, Since I Let You Go." - Mike Usinger, Georgia Straight

This is the Ponchos' homecoming show after 10 days of shows in the Prairies, and the one year anniversary of Since I Let You Go. They'll be coming in hot.

JUST A SEASON
http://justaseason.ca/

A “ringer” in the west coast music scene, Scott Smith has helped make a lot of other people sound great over the years. Between Barney Bentall, Aaron Pritchett, Rich Hope and His Blue Rich Rangers, Bocephus King and others, he’s been flipping between guitar and pedal steel while casually raising the bar with lightning technique and unfailing good taste. Recently, Scott switched positions, from shadowy sideman to the spotlighted lead, proving himself a songwriter first and foremost, with his new solo release; Just A Season. At all times, Just a Season is characterized by that rarest of qualities, where a relaxed feel is somehow produced out of the stealthiest musicianship.

LEATHAN MILNE http://www.leathanmilne.com/musicvideo.html

Leathan Milne’s songs are a refreshing jolt of humble, soft spoken honesty that are quite unique to the folk music world of which he has woven himself. His sound is rich with thick string arrangements, layered acoustic guitars and reverb. His first full length album is titled The Outcome Of Weather.

"These songs with the instrumental complexity Leathan is capable of are becoming reminiscent of a Bruce Cockburn kind of talent." - Ryan Fletcher CJSF 90.1 FM
