Party: Alive Fridays Presents Citizen Kay

Originally born in Ghana, then moving to the Capital of Australia while still very young, CITIZEN KAY has grown up with an ambition to make his way into the music scene. Beginning as an aspiring songwriter with a love of hip-hop, he began raping under the name 'Kay'. Not long after teaching himself how to rap, he decided to start teaching himself how to make beats and the art of recording. On the back of his first addition to rotation on triple j and successful Groovin' The Moo performance, CITIZEN KAY hasn't missed a beat since releasing his debut EP Yes! on Friday May 3.

With a major buzz from the blogosphere and spins on triple j and Unearthed behind him, Kay has been building momentum since the release of the Ansah Brothers track with brother Genesis. Adding to the explosion of CITIZEN KAY, he has just been announced as the national support on a string of sold-out ICE CUBE shows.

Kay will be bringing his trademark flow and exciting live performance to Academy this November
