Soul tunes slink into R&B jams and slide into the occasional early hip-hop track like LL Cool J or Run DMC, and later hip-hop classics from the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Aceyalone and Digable Planets, but the focus is on the funk, particularly late ’70s space funk and soul.
