7.30-8.45pm, Thursdays 5 October, 9 November, 7 December
Riverside, University of Worcester, Hylton Road, St John’s, WR2 5JN
Dancefest and the University of Worcester present a class designed for more experienced dancers looking to develop and deepen their contemporary dance practice.
Monthly sessions led by a series of highly experienced practitioners, these sessions will offer a chance to discover new ideas and techniques and provide a fast paced, challenging class.
£6.90/£5.90 concessions a week
Emily May Dance Theatre will be teaching the session on 5 October.
Emily is a recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Prior to and during her training she has worked with choreographers including Rosie Kay, Ben Wright, Bawren Tavaziva and performed in a recreation of Matthew Bourne's Highland Fling. Over the past two years, she has also been creating and performing her own work at various venues across the South, most recently being commissioned by the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal.
Emily's class will be release based with influences from Cunningham technique. With an emphasis on travelling through space, use of breath, and finding lability in the body, the class aims to find attack and joy in movement by relating to the music and each other!
